TAtrap OP trapper Joined: Feb 2019 Girdwood, AK	Are you re-hydrating alum tanned hides before re-tanning in chrome or bark? And if so what kind of mixture do you use? I could've sworn you've addressed this before but for the life of me can't dig it up. Thanks in advance

No I do not rehydrate dry alum pickle tanned hides for immersion finish tanning.Best to do it within a year if you want the best leather,especially if you live where there is high humidity. Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.
