Just got a dozen brand new mb650s. Not sure if this is normal or not. What are your guys thoughts? Looked at some old ones I have and they do not show this stress break. Like this on all 12.

No, that is not the norm, and I'm very surprised MTP would box something up like that. I could see where one accidentally makes it into a box, but not all 12. Give them a call, and send them this pic, they will correct the situation. In my 50 years of existence, without a doubt, some of the very best people I've ever dealt with.

Looks like a casting flaw to me. It will probably work just fine if that is so.

I don't think so.it is not a cast jaw but a stamped out steel jaw.I would call it a stress crack due to a bad batch of steel.Present in each trap? Better make a call.

None of my 650s look like that. Looks like a stress crack to me as well. I believe MTP will make it right, make the call. Great customer service in my experience.

My bad. Old eyes saw cast. In any case, I hate sending stuff back. I could fix that with a TIG welder in about a minute including setup time. No grinding required.

That is what it is for what you stated. It happened when some steel is bend for the way the steel is made.I seen it when I use to work for a welding repair shop years ago.
