Neighbor hit a coon a few miles from the house the other night he called me, I headed to town and the tail was gone the next day coon was still on the side of the road. Last night I got a text about a skunk dead a few miles in the other direction that was gone too! LOL This is going to be interesting if things get crazy just a shame people will whack off a skunk tail and pitch the essence away in most cases.

I said it in the other thread. Bounties don't work to much fraud. 100% so far!

I see why they are used. I hate what they bring.
You may think before you act. The question is did you listen to your own council?

Not that hard to understand why officials are too ignorant to understand why bounty programs never work as intended. Sort of par for the course it seems. Dang shame they are wasting taxpayer money to learn the hard way though.

I do not believe anyone has found a right way to run a bounty program. That is why you do not see very many of them anymore. The theory of a bounty is to increase the take of whatever the bounty is on. What it does is to provide reward to those who are already taking the target animal for free. It also rewards the less than honest folks who turn in whatever is required from animals that were not taken in the target area. The percentage increase in the actual target area is the goal but the cost includes the usual take plus the increase plus the dishonest. Not a wise use of funds.

Yep the fraud started already road kill does not count yet it's getting the tails clipped and critters pick up already. I think this will be a expensive mistake that will do little for anything but the guys turning in tails! Those cages went fast I wonder how many will never get set or misused. See a lot of bad things happening with this plan.

Yep you can look all around and see no cover in every direction but the stuff around the farm places. Been putting out scratch grains and cracked corn for the birds but the ground is starting to show more and more.

$10 a tail for coon, skunks, fox, badgers and possums! Wow!! That’ll certainly bring out some dishonest filth. I wonder how long this will last before one of those brainstormers figures it out?

The only thing it changes for me is the summer ADC skunks are worth another $10 and the coons that get caught will bring in some bucks guessing a $10 average sounds good! LOL They want to pay I'll take the money just worried about the abuses that will come from it with the ones lacking in ethics and responsibility of doing trap checks and such.

I skinned out 2 decent sized grinners that had been frozen for a month or two in my garage. The carcasses (minus the heads) with tails are in my garbage. I have no problem turning tails in but they will be caught after this thing starts. SD sportsmen clubs should start a lottery on when this thing will end. Gov. Kristi better have some deeper pockets, people will turn those tails in, especially in towns where $15 or more an hour jobs are few and far between. My farmer-hoarder guy on who's land I trap some thought there was $100 bounty on yotes. I told him no when he texted me but a couple weeks later in person, he said it again. That would bring a free-fire zone across much of the state, bullets whizzing about anywhere...

Had a skunk call at supper time guy had one he said was about 1/2 dead next to his porch so I go over and yep its about 1/2 tipped over the head had some kind of crusty skin a yellow stripe and thin fur. Could be anything from starving to intestinal worms to being drown out with the flooding rabies/distemper. Seen it's hole as I circled the house looking for it the landowner did not know the hole was there even.
Gave it the shot and put it in the truck will deal with it tomorrow will take the essence and pitch the rest just not worth it.

Hard to believe they would put a bounty on fox.
