I get jealous of the early spring down south, but I wouldn't want the heat and humidity of the summers. I used to get quite a few channel cats in April when I lived closer to a river. Used to use canned sweet corn in the early spring.

Every early cat I caught had a belly full of field corn. So figured match the hatch. Caught carp too.
