Heat up some kind of cooking oil/grease, mix in as much Borax as it will dissolve, place it in a shallow cap where they are running. They will take it back to the nest and wipe it out. Same thing with sugar water for sweet ants.

Tempo. Mix up a small batch and spray, ants take it back to the nest. Lasts for weeks and doesn't harm kids or pets.

Which Tempo acts like a bait? I'm not aware of one that ants bring back to their nest.
