Jack was my new trapping partner this season. He's not the best at trapping yet, but he gets pretty excited about Bobcats. So here are some pictures of him explaining how these cats will grade. I believe he was giving pointers about fur handling also. All these cats are headed to the tannery, so he'll get to study them better later on.

These were fun pictures, happy kiddo and nice Bobcats. Hope you enjoy too. [Linked Image]

That's a great pic... one you can show Jack on down the road. Love the shirt too.

Are those Ks. Cats? Look pretty good. How much money you think is laying there?

Yes those are KS bobcats, central KS actually. All of them are fully prime, but typical bobcats for around here. Not really nice bellies, fairly narrow width of the belly, and a bit off color some more than others. All of them are "rabbit backed", just plain brown backs. No really spotted bodies.

Two of them just barely missed XXL length. I probably would have sent the XXLs to auction. So all of them are XL or Large in size. My cats usually grade Southwestern with a few North Centrals. The last few years at auction those grades haven't done that well. I have a pretty good idea what these cats would bring as a group. So all of them are at the tannery this year. I think Jack will have more fun that way later on.

I'm happy some folks enjoyed the pictures.
