SO without going into detail my son and I are headed for Rio Grandes in Kansas. Trying at the very last minute to throw together a hunt and was hoping someone on here could give me some good tips on public places to go for a few days. We hope to be there for the opener next Wednesday the 17th. Thanks.

Your best bet will be walk in hunting. Wildlife and parks publishs a brochure they are listed in. Its probably on line if you do a search. Can look at satelite for the countys you are looking at for habitat. Walk in as a rule has lots less pressure and some of it is very good.

walk in hunting. if there is a parking lot your on the wrong place
don't be afraid to knock on the door and ask permission if you see birds someplace you cant go. be surprised how friendly some people are in this state
