How do y'all like your bait? Fresh or tainted.
Anybody know where I can get REAL beaver castor, mink glands, and silver vine for a decent price?

With the price of castor what it is right now the best way to get some castor is to go catch some beaver. Not trying to be smart, but good castor is going for $65/lb + right now.

Some even want 75.00 a lb. For castor, and wow mink glands are priceless to. So yes very good advice above, plus you know where it came from and handled it.

Let me sugar coat this

I keep the castors from the beavers I trap for what I want and then sell to my fur buyer what I do not need. You be better off like stated to trap you own and also will be able to use the meat and beaver tails also.

To answer your bait question: I use both fresh and tainted baits. When setting I'll change out baits during the day and when checking I'll swap baits daily.

I do the same with lures...

This is when targeting coyotes, fox and bcats.

Some may not consider it fresh but instead of tainting I’ve been using canning salt to cure fresh meat and using it that way. I still use tainted meat in small amounts but it seems that I get a better digging response from ground venison that has not been tainted. As far as castor you can’t beat Mr. Dobbins Back Breaker. A little bit goes a long way in a gallon of bait as an additive, I’ve used it by itself for both beaver and coyotes.
You can buy one to four oz. bottles of the above mentioned items from most of the vendors on this site for a reasonable price , you don’t need gallons of the stuff !

Yes well I thinking about making a bait and if it works well I my perfect it and try to sell it. I don't want to cheat by using another person's lure in it!

Check with some ADC guys where you live, they will probably let you have a carcass from beaver, skunk and whatever else you want.
there are some cheap sources of Silver Vine online, but it is not from the Galls , PM Lazarus, you cant just mix SV with anything without changing the chemical make up that is attractive to cats.
you can also try a wanted ad on the Trap Shed
good luck
