Still haven't figured the photos out. But heroes an idea for a set and go pipe dream. Gonna use it with a game cam this summer. Any thoughts?

Ok so it is simply a slap weld job holding a square tube about a handswidth off the base. I had been looking at the pipe dream set and thought this could work. Gonna set a camera on it this summer in several locations. Hope this makes it little clearer.

The hole on top is to drop a scent stick inside and spread the good news. Can slap some tape over it to keep water out.

I guess you could use it as a drag too. Wouldn't want to have to lug around all that weight.

Looks a little too easy to carry off to me. A good lure in a pipe set is going to make them want to bite and lick the pipe. Doesn’t look like you have any way to secure it so they don’t just carry it off somewhere and play with it if they don’t get caught immediately. Also, looks like you will need 2 traps because there’s no way to control what side they approach from.
Only one way to find out how they react to it, and that’s to test it.

Think I would just go ahead and make it into a mini-portable pocket with a 12" piece of rod or rebar. Or just go full out portable pocket and add 28-32" of half inch smooth rod.

I can easily make a way to secure it. But its almost 20lbs by itself.

When trap season comes around again I planed on setting it in an obscure game trail with sign on it. Setting on either side of the pipe. They come trotting down carelessly and snap. That's the theory. Fornow ill be just setting a game cam near it to watch.

Be warned from my experience there are some cameras out there that will spook coyotes. I'm fairly cheap and it's taken me trying 3 different cameras but I think I my have found one that doesn't alert them. Another thing to consider, sometimes new objects will spook coyotes. But thinking outside of the box is how great ideas come to be. Test and study the results. Whether it works or not you will learn valuable information about coyotes.

Spypoint and Stealth cams failed for me. Wildgame innovations's Silent Crush 24 Lightsouts ($116 if you shop around) has produced about a 12 pics of coyotes for me. I have it set on video now and will check in a week for results.

Wouldn't a dirthole or scent post set on that trail work just as good????

Some of yall make trapping much, much harder than it is...

Not meaning to rain on your parade, but a dirthole, scent post, flat set, etc is a set and go.....
