Is there any difference in quality & factory sharpness of the Post or Caribou one handed fleshers ? I watched a guy use one on a beaver that he was taking down on a board and he got every last little piece of flesh/fat with it.

I don't know if there is any difference in sharpness but can tell you I much prefer the stirrup style (small pelt scraper) over the square type . They do a super job in the finale fleshing on boarded beaver as they have no sharp corners that can foul you up.

I have the square type. Your stirrup style one looks intriguing, bctomcat.

Yes the square type works well but with the stirrup type you can use the curved corner to work those small hard spots on pelts and the edge of nailed beaver pelts. Hard to explain how versatile they are.

I have the Wiebe Stirup shaped scraper. Fantastic for that last run over boarded beaver. Really gets all that oil and soupy grease out of the leather too.

Handy tool. As stated makes putting up beaver much easier.

I use to have one of those types of fleashers and yes It worked good. But I lost It and know I just use the one with the square head. One edge Is a bit sharper then the other edge and the corners are rounded off. I have never used it on beaver for touch up work. Since when I'm done on the beam I don't need any touch up. I just use It for rats and mink.

You could also look Into buying one of those paint scrapers they also work well .

I have 2 of those Beav, as my neighbor retired from trapping and gave me 1. I may round the corners of 1 and sharpen the flat edge on the other half of it. That would give me some good additional options.
