Irc, a knot like you'd use on a rope for roping a cow

If I were using fishing line,I would use 20 or 30 lb Berkley fireline. It will hold it's shape and not sag.If you could get the mouse to fall off the edge of a table or shelf, that might be a plus.

I made a few of these mouse traps. Thin bronze wire snares 'em.

I'll share how I snare mice . I have an infestation in my shop right now and the cheap little snares I've been using are perfect for putting everywhere. [Linked Image]
I use 12 pound Berkeley trilene monfilament fishing line just because that's what I had to work with and it's stiff enough to hold the loop open. I am aware that a mouse can just chew right through the snare if it wanted but I have caught a good amount this way. They seem to be too preoccupied in trying to run from whatever caught them than trying to bite the line. So anyway I got the smallest fishing swivels I could find and tie a couple overhand knots on the wire side of the swivel, then take the other end of the fishing line and run it through the circle end of the swivel. That's about all there is to it. Take a piece of 1X2 and staple the snare to the top, as shown in the picture. I even put some peanut butter in between the snares for attractant.

Haha yeah you know it's been too long when I start snaring mice. But really it's just another thing that I can cross off the list, anyone can catch a mouse but how many people really snare them consistantly. That's probably the most finesse type of trapping there is.
