The water rose considerably last night with the 60 degree day as the snow melts. I am skinning, and drinking coffee. A lot of ice is on my ditch grades and any pond though.

Up in SK they are moving OK. Averaging 1.5 per night but only have 4 traps out all within 100 yards of each other. It’s wnoigh for bear bait without much effort and less then a mile out of town

Definitely seeing some travelers now, picking up beaver with little sign on the banks. Going to be setting a big line this weekend, if i can figure out pictures i'll try posting Sunday. The goal is 100 in 3 days, but i'm always overly optimistic.

Got a call from one of the guys on the township board in regards to catching some problem beaver. Going to check it out this weekend. They just upped the bounty to $50 per beaver regardless of size and I get to keep the beaver. Sounds like a sweet deal to me, now if I can just get the beavers to cooperate....

Beav 74#, 63#, 51#,42#, 21#,19# . $150 per bvr. I couldnt drive to area, im getting too mature for hauling that poundage out 3/4 mile. Money helped buy winter fuel for house.

I'm just doing some nuisance beaver trapping. I won't waste the fur, but it looks like the castor will be the better of the two cash-wise. I get paid per beaver on nuisance jobs. Otherwise, I don't search out beaver. It's a shame, cause I really love beaver trapping and IMO, beaver fur is beautiful fur. I don't understand why the market should be so weak for it.

The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.
