Hello,
Tomorrow I'm supposed to go set traps at a friends house for badger. He says the badger(s) are digging his yard up and his wife saw one. Any advice?
Thanks,
AuthorTrapper.

Not on badger, but good luck on the removal.

I have soft spot for badgers, in they are one of the few animals I will actually remove and release in a new location.

For advice, badger are bold animals and easy to catch, and easy to hold. I know flukes happen, but I once held one in a #1 victor longspring while trapping gophers, and it was only held by a claw. When I deal with them it is with live traps, as I transport and release, because your friend's wife should know that the reason that badger is there, is it is just doing it's job in digging out rodents. Get rid of the rodents and the badgers will leave the property and never be back. A badger is one of the original ADC specialists.

Any kind of bait will attract them and catch them in the meat to egg category.

I would just suggest again in finding a location with lots of work for it after you catch it and letting them do the work.

Well, I believe it was two weeks ago, the ornery badger ran out of luck! Our friend, and mentor caught a female badger! Here is a video.

Now we are on another job. Our sister-in-law saw a grey fox that we are trying to trap so's it won't eat their chickens!
