I love hunting Beaver more than trapping them.

Last night the last of the ice went by, it wasn’t a big flood at all.....however, we rode the flood to the head of the river, a 25 gallon round trip of Beaver, Ducks, Muskrats and Geese.

I was peticular to get Beaver pelts, as the ones I caught this winter are tanned, cut, and sewn away.....that what daughters are for, right?

These 9 are from 25 to 47 lbs, and a perfect red in hue.

My oldest daughter proclaims them hers for hats and parka trims...........no problem.

I watched your videos. tough to see whats going on. Cell phones make terrible You Tube videos. Buy a hand held camera that way you get a full screen and you can see where you are pointing it. Take one of the little ones along for camera person. I use to love taking Ocean along for camera person. The best video she use to get, now she is big and [.has her own priorities[i].

Thanks for the critique, Muskrat, I’m cameraless at the moment and don’t even own a phone, that one is my daughters, and I bummed an IPad from another daughter.
Since the dish works, I have a laptop (my first) coming here soon, although for now I’ll research better cameras, for sure!

I enjoy tips from veteran you tubers, and look forward to getting it all to a much finer end product.

I’m always looking to improve, and posting on YouTube is new to me fairly yet........LOL!

Many years ago I purchased a Taurus pistol in .218 Bee specifically for hunting beaver. Only way in Iowa to shoot, legally with a single projectile over water, is with a handgun. When that thing came out, had to have it. Loved it, was super expensive to shoot and I didn't reload at the time. Made a set of shooting sticks for the canoe and was able to get pretty decent with it out to so yards or so with open sights. Traded it after a few years and wished like heck I still had it. I really enjoy the episodes with you guys out hunting muskrat and beaver. Reminds me of when I was a kid, my brothers and I out hunting the farm ponds in November for muskrats. We used to use a fishing pole with an old spoon on it to get them in to shore after we shot them. That was a hoot!

Just livin' the dream...and paying full price for it!
