I don't know what it's worth, but I know I have 3 pails of tail oil going at the moment, and 2 of those are on their 3rd year. I would hazard a guess that of all the beaver fat oils, the oil from the tail is the most valuable .

The fat its self makes a mellow amber oil similar to rendered skunk fat. I use it to keep baits moist or as a base for certain lure projects .It has uses but value im not certain of. As les said bto is were the interest is

I've been told the rendered beaver fat oil is a great patch lube and is also used in making cast bullet lube. Was told it could also be used to water proof leather.You could probably post of some of the primitive muzzle loading sites and see if you get some interest there. I rendered down about 8 ounces to use for muzzle loading, but might try it in lures or baits. Not sure as I haven't tried it yet, but might work well in a castor lure formulation.
