Personally I would keep the fish pellets dry and not mix with stuff that makes a gooey bait. I would mix the molasses with some sweet flag and use it as a trail scent or dribbled around the DP.
Bryce I would do this also. x3

Don't over complicate DP bait for coons. Give them something to grab a hold on(pellets, pet food, corn, etc), and anything with scent that they can eat. Comeon its summertime

Got a 40 lbs. bag of fish food pellets and a gallon of stock molasses to mix for DP bait. How do you mix the two without making a big sticky mess ? Any tips or advice ? -Thanks Everyone has the "right" way but a big rubbermaid tote is great for mixing. The plastic totes have a tendency to crack when using a drill. I wouldn't pour the molasses in either, I would thin it out and use a spray bottle to get a better coating and then mix with a glove/hand, mixing stick or paddle drill on a slow mix. Use a 4x8 sheet of plywood or cardboard etc and place in the sun to dry it up to a tack, or bake it. It won't run or become a sticky mess.
