I'm fix to modify a bunch of #3 longsprings. What do you'll prefer to lam with. 3/16 round rod or flat stock ? I have both just wonder what is best.

Too much weight will slow them down some. 1/8" rod will work also.

I use 1/4 flat on all mine. Plenty fast enough. Never had any problems.

Are you required to laminate or are you trapping for the live market? If not then don't bother just set them and catch coyotes.

I have laminated a bunch of coyote traps and also have a bunch that aren't laminated. I have no requirements either way and they all catch coyotes equally well.
