Does it matter whether the prongs of this type of trap are positioned vertically or horizontally?

All videos I see online have them point down except for one that had them sideways.

Can not help, as I don't use that type of trap.

I have set them up or down but never sideways. I do not see any advantage of this way of setting them. JMO

Thanks. Traps are on the way. I have the Out of Sight Trap, but the surface tunnels are in soft mulch and these should be a bit better.

I have the tongs pointing up and down. The wonderful thing about these traps is they don't have to be bedded because there isn't anything on the bottom of the tunnel.
