Super Call-
This is one of my original lures for the Red Fox. It is a fine call and one that I have used for many years. It is also good for the Coyote and attractive to the Coon.
In a clean quart jar place one pint of finely ground mice and 1 1/2 cups of rain water. Allow the Mice to rot down good. Add 4oz ground Muskrat Musk, 2oz ground Beaver Castor, 1/2 oz Tincture of Valerian, 1/2 oz Tincture of Asafoetida and almost fill the jar with pure fish juice. Blend the mixture with a bit of pure Skunk Essence, about 10 to 12 drops. Mix well and allow to age in a warm place for at least a month.
NOTE: Be very careful when milking the essence from the sacs of the skunk to obtain the essence, that you do not allow any of the yellow musk to milk out in the almost empty sac. Use only the pure amber colored essence. Use one third teaspoon of the above scent when you scent a set. this is attributed to bill nelson. been passed around for awhile now. it works good
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

I am not sure whether this is a bait or lure, but a simple but very effective mix I make and use is; slightly aged ground mice, mink glands, glycerin and a pinch of skunk. It works as good or better than just about anything I have bought.

I like this sounds easy to make and maybe it’s goof proof?
Above states a pint of ground mice, how many mice will it take to get a pint?
I’m sure you could use those mail order mice that are farm raised?

In my experience taint goes very fast with mice. Depending on the volume of your container I've tainted just one day to four. I don't want them rotted. I've had just as good results with no taint
