"Speaking of old trappers we don't here about anymore ,
Anyone heard anything out garold weiland or calvin cobb ?"

One time I wrote Mr. Lucero and asked some questions about lure making. I was surprised that he took time to send a not when he sent his lure catalog.
I do not remember if I mentioned on this thread or not but I had good luck with his bait and lures. Both of his books are excellent. I wonder if he makes an lures anymore.

Garold Weiland is one of my favorites. I have ever book he wrote and learned from all of them. The pictures in his books were great on explaining locations. Wrote Mr. Weiland a couple times and he took time to patiently answer my letters by writing me back. Very cool to have letters from some of the old greats.

Recently bought Calvin Cobb's book. I found it to be an excellent read with lots of interesting ideas.

Many years ago I wrote Willy Carrol. He replied with a letter that gave me a lot of great ideas on coyotes, sets and baits. Got a lot of information from him, and it meant a lot to get that letter.
