What would be good replacement springs for a #4 Duke? Would Bridger #3s be good?

Yes the #3 springs will fit them fine. I'd get some music wire ones and you should be good to go, very stout springs.

This.

Is there a real need to add power to those traps?

I just know that they are a copy of a Bridger #3 but they aren’t as strong

If you have not lost critters in them I would not change them

Just add the helper 4 coils springs to the other side. Cheaper and a lot faster/easier. The Duke #4 pins should be plenty long enough to do this...Unless you clipped them off short.

My #4 dukes put my #3 bridgers to shame . I would suggest you measure your spring strength with a scale before you go to changing new springs

I have replaced the springs on a couple dozen Bridger #3's with music wire and out the old springs on #4 dukes and old model Montgomery
