I bought some 330 that need triggers...one end of each spring is open where they attach to the jaws, closed with a metal clip. Anyone know what brand they are, so I can buy triggers?

Those were the first model of Conibear that came with the humped corners. The Series 2. The reason they don't have triggers is that those traps came with a wishbone trigger. A piece of wire that clamped over the jaw. Very flimsy item that would very often fly off the trap at the most inoppotune moment. That idea only lasted a year or two before they went with a more stable trigger. Just in case any one is interested.

Those cotter pined clips were added so you could take them off and remove the springs so you could get out of the trap. I know they were Victors and I think they called them 330-2

Actually, Victor was ahead of their time. They were designed so that the springs were easily removed for storage. Victor knew the keeping springs compressed weakens them. That might be true for that particular piece of crap model...

I'm pretty sure they didn't come out of Canada. They made the 220-2 the same way. They also made the 210 a 220 with only one spring. It made a great rat trap when setting those wide runs.

FOUND IT In Dave Hasting's book "Mr Pete" page 74
"Woodstream created the cotter key divice, enabling the trapper to let himself out of the trap.I patented that for the Canadans."
"They were made for two years in Canada, and were never sold in the US. Lot of them ended up in the US,but they were manufactured in Canada"
