Here’s old faithful. Thousands of squirrels, fox, geese, grouse, lynx , mice, flies, everything we have here. Not kidding about the flies.

I have the same 22. But mine the back sight fell off. But for overall shape mine has spent way less time on the side of a snowmobile chasing wolfs. The lack of a back sight did not hinder the youngsters from nailing beavers in the head this spring. Got a black duck in flight with it last year also, the pump is so fast it can almost be used like a shot gun.

Shot gun with a 22.....you mean you can put up a wall of lead with it.
Sure miss those SIR days. They moved a lot of fur in their time, buying and selling.

Some beauties from a weekend caribou hunt to the coast. Nobody has
Been getting caribou since ice moved. My grandpa phoned one day and said he and my grandma were right out of meat so I have it a long shot and lucked out on 3 after a nine hour boat ride.

Thanks again for the ride along Ryan it's been a long time since I've been far enough north to see ice on a lake or anywhere else for that matter. Those are some spectacular pictures and what a pile of drift wood, I've seen where people use it for lawn ornaments and for crafts where others use it for firewood.
Has the berry season started yet ? Our goose berries should be about ready to pick but our chokecherry and buffalo berries aren't going to be ready to pick for nearly a month or so.

Cloud Berries and blueberries are usually ready by first week of August but it could be early this year. Cranberries are ready in September. The picture of the ice with two seals was taken in the very last of the ocean ice in shingle point harbour on the Arctic Ocean. There is drift wood piled up for miles in some places.

Thanks for clarification I though those were seals I just wasn't sure that's a good sized whale too.
I was at one of the local lakes there were two pairs of Canadian geese with a big bunch of gosslings out eating grass and what ever they can find. I thought of jerky later this season .

Is the driftwood your firewood?

Hi Larry. We burn driftwood on the coast but our main firewood in the delta is dead standing spruce. Lots of work is right. If I didn’t work hard I wouldn’t really enjoy the odd bit of down time. Doesn’t feel right relaxing unless my work is done.

One of Bobby Ryans last projects in junior kindergarten this spring was to draw something that he loves to do. That’s me and him in a boat hunting geese at Mackenzie river. My boy sure makes me proud.

That's the sweetest thing I've seen in quite some time I'd say that young man needs his own short reed goose call so he can get practiced up in time for the next goose hunting trip !

Couple from work last week.

Couple more showing the start of fall weather. The last one was taken when the street light came on for the first time in about 3 months.

Been up since 7 am. Me and my son Bobby Ryan were supposed to head to the coast this morning but it’s been raining all night. Cold weather. I let him go back to sleep for now. Weather check at noon. Make a call by early afternoon but forecast doesn’t look great. coffee and cold fall air is pretty nice boys. Made in through July again white17. I share your dislike for summer but we made it.

That ice break up does not look good especially when you see multi-year ice melting.
So are those Belugias on the edges of the flow ? my laptop cant enlarge features.
Any snow goose movement and how was the yearling hatch in your region and to the west in Alaska ?

No belugas in the pictures. Once we hit highly populated areas were stuck with our head through the bubble window so pretty hard to get pics. Some bowhead pictures would’ve been nice. The snow geese nest in the far north so I won’t know much until they start south.
