What is the use of a pan cover and how do you use them

Pan covers are used to keep dirt out from under the pan of your trap. Using these makes sure that your trap will fire freely, as dirt that gets under the pan can effect tension, etc. They fit right over the pan, and I’ve seen them made out of wire mesh, latex, fiberglass, etc.

I don’t use pan covers I put insulation circle cut outs under my pan, and it works just as good as anything and as long as there isn’t standing water in my set the water runs right through is and doesn’t allow the top of my trap to freeze down.
