Anyone make them? I've been working on them for some time now.
I have a working prototype, but making dozens of them exactly the same is a difficult task without a CNC machine. I'm reusing the factory pan on my design so I'm really only making the mechanical advantage piece.
Any ideas.

i will have to look when I get home but I bought some pans from a guy that was like a pit pan and I had to weld a small sleeve to the base of the trap in front of the dog so I could attach the bigger pan. I used brass hardware. I did this to a dls #2 and it gave me a lot larger pan as well as being able to set a pan tension. I have 11 more I need to modify but I really like how the first one turned out. I also center swiveled the base plate 14in of chain with a swivel at the base of trap then in the middle of the chain then again at the end of chain before the earth anchor. I can get pictures if you want tonight after work. not sure how to post pics but could email or text them .

forgot a pic. it works really well this is the first one I did that is a 5/16x18 hollow treaded piece. I will be having the machine shop at work use the lathe and drill me a piece of 5/16 rod with an 8/32 hole through so it makes for a cleaner looking finished trap. I just wanted to be able to set pan tension as I like a dls for freezing temps cause if the bottom of a dls is froze to the ground it will still fire since the top portion of the spring isn't frozen in. this one is not base plated yet but will be in a few days when I get time to work in the shop. also gonna laminate them and weld bubbles on the jaw ends to prevent them popping out of the frame

I’m not a fan of the little slot on the sleepy pan. Makes it hard to night latch. Otherwise good job. I’m sure there is a pit pan for a 2. Call ed

Nice work MuddyMike. But I was really looking for the mechanical advantage of a pit pan.
This is what I came up with

As you can see, I wanted to keep the old look with a modern twist.
I have about 2 pounds of pan tension with this design.

I just want to know if I can buy them. There's 3 hours in this one and it not even finished

I totally agree. Called him last week, and we talked for over an hour.
I'm going to his shop this week and he said he can fix me up.
As I said, I want the old pan with the mechanical advantage of the PIT system. What you see in the pic I posted gives me a 2lb pan tension.
I would like a little more and he said he can do that.
