I got call yesterday for moles, and the person does not want me to trap them. The reasons were because of cats and she doesn't want to harm the moles. I tried to explain that the cats will not be harmed and it is better to trap them. They still shot down the idea of trapping them. What is a good poison to spread across the yard to push the moles out? I can get some spread locally that kills all grubs in the yard, but its not specifically made for moles. Any ideas would be appreciated.

No such product that I am aware of that is effective. Trapping is the only sure fire method to get positive results.

Talprid poison worms are effective if eaten, however if a dog eats one it could cause problems in poisoning. We don t use the worms but pest control folks use them if they dont know how to trap to try to sell some work.

Yep best way to trap them. Their diet isn't 100% grubs anyways. Don't quote me but over half their diet is earthworms in one study I read, which your not going to get rid of. Trapped plenty of yards where they had sprayed for grubs..still plenty of moles in their yard.

Once in a while it's maybe best to just shy away from a particular customer. This might be that situation.

Yup. This is a potential customer to run from.

Somebody who is afraid of traps you can set off on your hands without damage is not somebody you want to drop poison in their yard.

I don't use those expensive poisonous worms either, Bob.
