I weld mine but only for pulling reasons. If I can get my truck to them I hook a chain to the crunch proof and pull them. Now I don't open j-hooks I break cable. One day ill rig up a old bumper jack as a puller

I have had 1 trap lost with the J hook bent open. I have also had coyotes chew chain links shut on twin look chain so I switched to other chain. I have had them pull jaws out, bend the frame, bend the dogs on supposedly ''bend proof'' dogs, They can really test your equipment so I weld them all now

Just passin through

So they don’t open when pulling chained super stakes.

So a thief can’t open them when they can’t figure out how to pull a chained super stake.

And just in case I catch something strong enough to open them.

Ditto here. All three reasons.
