They are a good kit. I have used them in the past.
But if putting them on your 1.75 s in Hope's of making them a coyote trap. Nope ,,, way better off buying a coyote trap imo.

I put 3 dz on Dukes #3 offset. And on a few #2 and #3 bridger's. Easy to do. I bought 6 dukes # 1 3/4 at a yard sale. I done them. I bought new music springs replaced them before putting on the kits.

That 1 3/4 duke with a taos kit is a trap that catches . Change the chain if you are going after coyotes .i have several dozen set up with taos springs base plates [clips where the springs hook onto a trampoline] and machine chain with a chestnut ring and reinforced dog .

im not "targeting" coyote, I just want to make sure if one does happen to beat a fox there that it will still be there in the morning.

They work great. They give a little power to come up through semi frozen soil too.

Just passin through

They work very well for their intended purpose, they add power to the initial trap firing to break thru frozen crusted muddy soil. I have them on all my land traps, all sizes.

Common sense catches alot of fur..

No worries about spring strength,,, that has little or any to do with if a fox be there in the morning.
Chain &anchor set up has more to do with that situation .

Reds spot on, and add more swivels that work..and anchor for the largest meanest animal on your line..

Good advice given in these last few posts by good coyote men. The Taos Lightning 4 coil kits are top notch...designed to be balanced in spring tension... not too strong. The spring holder is tough and holds things in place very well.
My opinion only is the Duke 1.75 ALREADY has good spring strength...are you sure you need more?

You don't think the trap is strong enough to hold one now?

i just hear too many conflicting thoughts on it. Some guys say its not strong enough, others say they are fine. Would rather be safe than sorry.

All i can tell you dont take anybodys word for spring strength on any trap without holding them in your own hands side by side

I have some with taos kits and some that dont they are all decent traps the taos kits help them to come out of the frozen ground better..stock 13/4 duke traps with a better chain on them are plenty strong to hold any coyotes that is pad caught or atleast two toes . The number one thing on those traps to fix is the chain
