I didn't know that. Interesting. Funny they didn't mention that in the WTA magazine.

WTA needs to get with the times. I agree with Sam Wood and his stances. Until WTA changes to be better for our sport. I won't join again.

No idea where you're coming up w/ that bizaare stance. Go ahead and whine then. The rest of us will carry the weight (& foot the bill). WTA could be a model for other states. Some guys will never be happy.

Some guys will never be happy. How is taking a stance whining? YouTube Sam Wood and watch his videos. He's great for WI trappers. He has a video of when he sat down and got to speak at the capital. Please watch it.

We ARE with the times now that we have started filming educational videos and have an active stance on social media. I am partnered with Sam Wood to help with Facebook groups and free trapping events and he respects me even though he doesn’t agree with the WTA, so it’s not an “us vs them” thing anymore. We have publicized the YouTube channel because we are still working on filming, content, logos, and we are all VOLUNTEER who get no sponsors or advertising money so we have to pay out of pocket for equipment, travel, etc.
We have a handful of videos on our YouTube channel but we won’t start promoting the channel until we get the dozens and dozens of planned videos we will have completed. But right now, we are all too busy trapping and holding volunteer trapper Education classes.

For anyone else reading, we are very open to all suggestions on what kind of videos you think would be great for Wisconsin Trappers, from short ones that teach phrases like "sight-exposed bait" and "entanglement/recessed", or long videos about making waxed dirt or skinning/fleshing...we have some of the greatest trappers to ever trap in the state of Wisconsin who are willing to teach some stuff that they would have normally kept secret. We hope to have a "Hall of Famer" feature in the future where we get tips/tricks from some of the HoF legends before they pass. Right now we just have some of the basics from one day when all of us traveled to a central location in Wisconsin and gave up a Saturday to film as much as we could before dark, but we'd like to go them quarterly throughout the year if possible.
