How do you guys deal with mice in houses?

Traps, then stick in the freezer for trap bait and Cat's under jugs.

perform exclusion to perimeter foundation of home then extensive trapping interior. poison as last resort.

If it is my house, the wife just burns it down and I do not have to worry about the mice.

On the others, same as stated above by chrisobanion.
It always starts out small and ends up going bigger, mice, squirrel, woodchuck, skunk, coon, so on.
