Whats the ups & downs for smear vs pellet baits for dps?

Smear is better for wet wetter, harder to for the animals to clean out, which is also harder for you to clean out. Harder to get in the trap too.

Dry pellets getting wet will mold and sour if no catches after a few days of no catches. Pretty easy to apply and easier for coon and mice to clean out.

I don't really have a preference for either though I do tend to use pellet baits more in the early season then switch to a ground meat coyote bait later in the year.
