I have used them with golf balls on nuisance jobs for the usual egg eaters.

Way back in the 50s when I started trapping I checked out a library book on trapping. Can't remember the exact title but it showed a trap concealed under a birds nest and the nest was on the top of a small tree about 4 feet off the ground. I have never made this set but when I trap frozen marshes in winter I see these little nests and wonder if a couple of drops of call lure plus the natural eye appeal. Probably would catch every feral cat in the county.

Put a few feathers in the nest. Around here that would get you a citation for sight exposed bait unless it was 30feet or more from the trap, and the feathers could not be from a game bird or federally protected bird regardless of distance.
