I recently purchased a dozen FB2's for the first time. They come bare metal and I am wondering if using speed dip causes any issues with their functioning? Thanks

I buy camo paint on clearance in the spring. I spray paint them over and over again. Sometimes I replace a shined up trap with one painted the night before with no issues.


you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!

So true. I use brown Speed Dip and mix it thin , works great. Give it about week in the sun to cure. But big bob is right, a coon will shine it up over night. I had a pretty rusted #2 long spring trap that looked brand new after a coon rolled in the sand all night. Even the newer powder coated traps get shined up pretty quick.

I dipped my Z-traps this summer after years of use. Some were shined up good. Worked great right over the powder coat.
