I've read that squirrels will start looking for warmer places to live when things get cooler and start to invade homes--particularly the attics which were much too hot to live in during the summer.

Is this what you've found?

Not only that, but theres a much better chance the young will survive if raised in an attic.

Red squirrels or pineys as they are usually called cache their nuts in a cavity or attic and usually am busy with them pretty soon. Gray squirrels bury their nuts in the ground and tend to head for attics much later.

Gray's are what we have around here. Good to know, in a way. Makes trapping them outside the house a lot easier. Have to dine out--no eating in!

Do bears poop in the woods?

The measure of a man is what he will do when he knows he won't get caught.

Late january is when I start getting the bulk of my squirrel calls. And then it's full on right up until about July. When it gets too hot in the attic, they move to the soffit and boxing.
