Do you guys know of any makers of such bait? Thinking it might work good as a change up.

Scott Welch makes some and I believe Wolfen bait/lure maker Jim Tate makes one also

All the Nelson formula baits are fish based, called fish oil or bait solution, but it's simply thoroughly rotted fish. Several well known commercial baits claim Nelson formulas.

I spent a lot of money trying different baits and most worked. But as I started making catches I’d save my bobcats and cut all the meat off then cut in chunks. Caught more off fresh bobcat chunks down a dirthole than anything else. First catch off it...a bobcat, lol.

Carp oil seems to work great in my area

You may think before you act. The question is did you listen to your own council?

Coyotes love fish.
Been using carp chunks and fish oil for years on our line. It's a great change up from other meat based baits.
Carol blacks fish bait is good. I've caught a lot of coon on Katz brothers black label coon bait which is fish or shellfish based, too. Tim Caven has a good coon bait that is fished based and works well on predators in general. So does Carmen's. See the theme?
Look for a good fished based coon or mink bait and then use that on your dryland predator line instead. Give it a try.
A shot of good sharp smelling shellfish or fish oil in a dirthole also works on coyote or fox for me. Salmon oil is nice change up too.
I salt my own carp chunks and that works well. Coon and coyote alike.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

It just can't be that simple.lol You have to experiment and add something to it.

Shellfish oil and shellfish baits have worked very well for me over the years. Caught all kinds of animals with it.

Best thing to add to any bait is location.

It can be very simple, there was a man over the hill from me that caught a lot of fox in blind sets with uncovered traps, coons too. But what's the fun in simple, eh?

I thought that was the only way to have a "proven" scent? Even then it could be a "not so great scent" < no idea what that is supposed to mean considering there are folks who hammer critters on certain bait and others not so much. I like simplicity. it takes many critters for me.

Western Cats Inc has a fish based bait called jacklamack that I've used in the past with good results.

I know a guy in Montana that used smelt. He would rot it down until it was semi chunky. He always carried two containers. When he caught a skunk he would put a little skunk juice in one of them, that’s all he would add. He put up some unbelievable numbers of coyotes.

Marsyada bait solution smells fish based and that on some fresh ground beaver meat is a huge producer for me. I have tried just fish but it seems the coons beat the coyotes to the set and clog it up. Lol

Just buy some fish oil from amazon or a trapping store or something. If you are hating DPs then I fill it up with dogfood then either squirt fish oil on it or put sardines on it
