Setting up a couple more trailcams today searching for some monster bucks! Found this sweet spot where there’s a few good deer trails meeting each other. A little low spot to the side very swampy that the deer are going around. Found lots of old rubs on the trees here too. Hoping for a one fiddy! What are you guys doing today?

Sounds like a nice way to spend the day. Whitetail love those muskegs. Today, I drove just across the border into Montana to get the dogs out after spruce grouse. Struck out on the grouse, but plenty of fresh wolf and bear turds.

Nice! Are there ruffies out there too or just spruce grouse? We have Ruffed, Spruce, and Sharptails here. Never hunted them with dogs before though. The Sharptails are real tough to get close to. Find them in the old burn outs, but they tend to see you coming from 200 yards away and fly to the other end of the burn out a mile away. Lol

Lol Yeah there are ruffs there too as well as blues but I have those here and can hunt those right around home. No spruce grouse here where I live, or at least not many so I drive 45 minutes over into MT.

I have a question. What would inspire a person to take a picture of themselves? And then post it on the internet? I am so dad blamed good looking that it would be dangerous to do so. Besides the poporatzzi interference in my daily life the groupies would interfere with my cover in the local coon haunts and rat sloughs that I slink into. I have discussed this affliction with Trapper Les and we are conspiring to co-author a book to address the situation. Zim I don’t have friends, so I have to take pics of myself. If I’m at home I could have my wife or kids take a pic of me, but I’m usually solo when out in the bush.

Setup a similar area a few days ago...Large ditch causing the deer to funnel at the bottom point along a river..looks rut good..don't have a selfie but when I was setting this area up had a few deer came by, if you look closely you can see her...looks to be a good bedding area to the south of the funnel which I suspect is a good rut location..
Thought I was a good trapper until I started trapping coyotes...... Thought I was a good bowhunter until I targeted mature bucks....

Usually they have run off any potential friends with their constant blaring of Celine Dion and Justin Bieber music.
