I run it through my regular dirt sifter so it is the way I usually use it at the set. x2

No- it's not too fine. You are doing a good job - it's probably taking you more time than it does to sift through a regular dirt sifter but it is just fine. When you wax that dirt it will clump up a little and it will work great for you.
Just passin through

I use mesh wire just like dirt sifter, big enough to lean up against the tailgate and shovel it out . It gets the stuff out, and i always resift at the set. I use sand and works just fine for me.
Let me sugar coat this

The finer the better, but all that's really needed is to sift the stones out. If your using a cement mixer toss a couple baseball size rocks in with the dirt. by the time the dirt gets heated it'll be fine... Small pellets are good big clumps not so much.
Common sense catches alot of fur.. Pay homage to all you harvest..

I bought a sheet of expand metal 1/4 inch cut in half put 12 or 16 bucket under it and go to shoveling. 11 -5 gallon buckets is pretty darn fast.

I use dirt from old badger mounds. Let the badgers do some of the work for me. I still sift it but it makes life easier
