[quote=hippie]I've tried boxes and found out there's much, much better productive sets to use here. [quote]

Under frozen water conditions; what would they be?

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

Our season doesn't include frozen water, at least it is a very rare occurrence if it is. The poster asking is also from Pa. So I'm guessing he has the same water conditions.

Any open water in winter deep enough for drowning gets a pocket set with a 1 1/2 coil. My mink box idea was in frozen marsh for those big wandering bucks. I seemed to fare better with blind sets using conibears in narrowed down trails thru the cattails.

In frozen water conditions I would usen sunken baited conibears, sunken baited buckets or bottom edge sets if the ice wasn't too thick before I would use boxes.
