Was wondering what everyone does to help keep their snares organized while out on the line. Seems like the back off the pickup can get tangled up real quick while pulling snares.

I use gallon Ziploc bags then write on each what is in each bag with a sharpie it's very quick and easy.

You're friend along the snare line .

I coil them back up and drop them in a bucket. My old pickup had a manual transmission. Always kept a dozen or so dropped over the shifter while checking.

Danny. Did you ever use all 12?

You may think before you act. The question is did you listen to your own council?

yes steelflight. then just grab more from behind the seat out of the Walmart bag. no shifter in the truck I use now so they live in a bag. that shifter thing is handy. if you have one give it a try

I do exactly as Allan Minear, using freezer,Zip Locks. These are met in a plastic tote that is labeled "Snares".I also keep some spare wire in there.

I have a Cordura snare pack, loaded with several snares and all the tools, supports etc, needed to set them. This includes folding saw, pruners, pliers, cable cutters, extra wire of various sizes,etc..

I wrap them up with an earth anchor attached to the end. From there, I put in a bucket when setting. At the end of the season, I toss them in a tote and then from there untangle at home.

I have trapped the same ground for many years now, if im fence snaring i just pull snare up to the top of fence post. Other places where I'm snaring the wide open i pull them, coil them up and hang them on a brace post by the main gate. Other wise i have a headache rack on pickup and hang them there till i get home. And recoil them up zip tie them into groups of 3-4 and store in five gallon bucket with some sage. Some days when a mess starts it can be a tangled spaghetti feed in the truck or wheeler lol

Let me sugar coat this

I use cheap sandwich bags.1 each. Probably get 100 in an ice cream bucket. I've used the used plastic bag for pan covers when I forget to take enough along. 10 or so in my jacket pocket for when I see that spot that just needs another set.

Clean, 3- quart plastic ice cream pails with snap on lids hold quite a few for me. Roll up the snares so each are roughly size of the bucket. I keep different sizes/makes in different buckets and a sharpie marks the lid for contents easily. Best system I've used for season.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
