Slushing here. My cousin is up a couple thousand feet higher says it is a blizzard right now.

Glacier park has about a foot of snow , here now it's very wet snow flakes I heard the highline was really catching it .

Down around Hardin the larger sugar beet farmers were using carts to haul the beets out of the field to waiting semis with potato end dumps complete with walking floors . What was the worst down there was the amounts of mud on the paved highway. The smart producers kept the defoliator a couple hours ahead of the diggers in case the best dump shut down for what ever reason.

Yes there's times I miss not hauling beets to the dump the pay wasn't much but the fresh Mexican food from some of the drivers was second to none, things would get interesting if one of them wrecked a truck then INS would show up and for a few days the wait to dump the load of beets wasn't as long ha ha

Well its been blowing into this side of the Divide big time . Snow coating the mountains down to the 3,000 ft levels and dropping .

Very high winds bending the big trees from the northeast . I had to drive earlier, hadnt been out in wind that strong in over 25 years. Downed trees in places . I felt bad for high profile trucks and RVs. Not a day to be towing a trailer.

Nice to still have power in all this.

Temps colder and dropping. Horses in pastures and deer are spooky and wide eyed . They are not used to wind in this area.

I expect more snow tonight and even down into the valleys .

Winter is about here !

Everyone be safe .

I see your area is really getting it. Should be some beautiful scenic views soon.

Rain, fog and snow for my area.

Punched in a few coyote sets this morning to start slowly getting the line out in this particular loop I have. 3 dirtholes, 2 flat set, a pee post and then a curiosity post set with a lure I made. Had trees coming down in most of the areas I stopped to set in. Glad to have the chainsaw with me as I had to cut a tree on a forest road that came down across the road after I drove past. Was snowing but not sticking at 2,400 feet this morning. Weather says 10 - 18" tonight and tomorrow at the 3k foot level and higher. We'll see. I like this time of year when the seasons change. Especially when it's fall. Trapping, bird hunting, deer/elk hunting. It's a good time of year.

Boy howdy is it ever in the whole area. All down the rocky mtn. front pretty much. The wind has let up quite a bit for now , and the snow has been filtering in.

Its been quite the time watching all this movement and turbulence in barometer pressure , and in observing my deer and wild turkeys and other birds as it all comes down. The wee birdies are huddled at the feeders as if there's no tomorrow. Ive noticed they always do that during big winter storms.

Last temp reading was 30 and still dropping.

At first light I do expect to see snow on the ground in this high valley , though it will probably melt in the next day or so .

The high peaks are coated with good beginning base , just in a few hours.

A few days from now Ill take a drive and capture some shots of the land to share here. Be nice to see some captures of other's scenery as well.
