I have used persimmons for bait for years. I caught everything on them. Could a person grind them up. Add a little caster maybe cat nip. Few other ingredients and add ball fresh fruit produce protector. Make a paste out of it? What other ingredient would work in it? I can get all the persimmons I need.

make 2 baits...….1 with castor and another with the catnip
use Pectin to preserve

Persimmons were my favorite grey fox bait when I was a kid. They were free and I’d freeze them in some of mamaws butter bowls she saved. Recently read that you could put in canning jar and put sugar on top and they be fine.

I was going to use big ice cream pails. Use pectin make them last longer. I have caught alot of fur with them.
