Im making a friend of mine a fur hat for Christmas and I was wondering what fur would be my best choice? My buddy cowboys for a living so, the hat will get used pretty hard, and need to be durable and fairly easy to clean (in case it gets cow crap on it). Im thinking beaver or muskrat. Any imput or ideas?

Beaver is more durable than muskrat. Heavy leather as opposed to very thin leather, plus the fur is denser.

Beaver or otter bud. Both Co e with a thicker hide. Beaver is a stiffer hair. But only just.

You may think before you act. The question is did you listen to your own council?
