If you go through the park you have a slower speed limit I think it's close to 45 mph but I'm not 100% sure on that . As for tourist traffic it should slow down by now but there's going to be some archery hunters around the park and fishermen in the park filling in the blanks . With that being said a trip through Yellowstone NP is worth it there should be a lot of wildlife to see and some great landscapes to look at .

Exit Park at the East gate to drive to Cody and points beyond. Good museum in Cody worth stopping for. 2x

Traffic through Jellystone will be down quite a bit. Elk are in the rut which would be fun to see if you haven't seen before, especially around Mamouth. They are rutting hard now.

If you go through Jackson hole I believe you also have to go through grand Teton national park. The fee to enter the park is different then the Yellowstone park fee unless you purchase the annual pass. We were there July 2018 went to Yellowstone and decided to grand Teton, had lunch in Jackson I believe only to find out we had to pay to get back to Yellowstone $35 if I remember correctly. I've never heard of such a thing. Is this something new? It has been for years that when you pay to get in Yellowstone it's good for Tetons. If you come in from Jackson you pay to get into Teton NP and it good for Yellowstone NP. The entry fee is good for 3 days the last I heard. (used to be 9 days before this last price raise) . SAVE YOUR TICKET STUB !!!!!! The speed limit is 45 mph in the park

Yellowstone is a National Park. Not sure where the UN comes in? Like other national parks, their concessions are put out for bid on a cycle.
Wife and I have America the Beautiful passes that grant free or reduced entry to most National Parks, Monmuments,BLM, etc. A great deal for anyone over 60, I think. Been a while. Only one member of the family needs to have the pass for a car to enter the gate.
