Yup: giving up on the VK540, there is a new warranty engine coming in for it from Japan. But tired of waiting and too much trouble when it is running. Dead plugs, blown head gaskets, running on one when cold, no vents on the hood so you get sticks in your starter and steamed out when breaking trail, sliders that don't last. Extra wheel kit, scratchers and a primer probably would take care a lot of that but there is still no screen kit, but wider skis would probably stop a lot of the snow from flying up and getting into the hood.

I hope VK Pro works out. Not sure what im going to do if I don't have to haul extra gas around with me all the time. But the Voyageur, Lynx and Tundra will probably still be around to burn it up. Now I got to find a ride for it from Whitehorse to Inuvik then wait for the river to freeze up so I can drive it to Aklavik.

Don't get stuck or drop it in a creek.

Deal fell through (like a VK Professional into a creek, Dirt). So I will be keeping the VK540 once the new warranty engine makes it to Whitehorse from Japan. Im going to get 11" skis put on it to hopefully make it float a bit better and reduce the snow flying up and getting into the engine. I sure hope the primer eliminates the running on one plug on cold mornings problem. The VK540 is an excellent wood hauling machine, hope the problems are fixed. Yamaha should sponsor me and Stan Z to find these problems so they can fix them.
