At John Graham's Coyote Days there was a guy that was selling a roller clamp for skinning machines. I lost his card and can't find any info online. He had sold out of what he had brought. Anybody know who this might be? Thanks

Skinning machine, what would it be like to not want to use one! 40 years ago I didn't know what one was!

I'm not sure I could do without mine. 59 year old hands full of arthritis.Coons peel pretty easy, but those coyotes can be tough.

I haven't torn any hides with my skinning machine for years since I learned the prop way to use it.

Cant say great enough things about this hide gate from ADC. Have not torn a hide since I got it and started using it instead of clamps. The only tricky part can be getting the bite to start, but once it grabs you can pull as hard the carcass will allow. Only time I have much of an issue is with big boar coon that have a couple gallons of fat on them after skinning and that's only getting the gate to grip. Never would I build another skinning machine without a gate instead of clamps.

In the image you can see where it grabs. Once the hide is dry though you cant tell. Also if your overhead room is limited you can lower the carcass and get another bite and keep pulling.

Does the mark left go away when they dry?

Get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US.

So, what would work better with a low ceiling, the roller or the gate style?

When life gets me down..... you know hunting/trapping season is closed.

They both preform well with lower ceilings. The guys who use them swear theirs is the best whichever one they have. I think the main difference would be the gate is slightly faster in operation but only seconds difference.

Used the roller clamp for the first time the other day. Works great.
