Today I caught a skunk (was targeting coon) in a Cage trap w 1/2x1 wire. I decided to cover it up and bring home and put in CO2 Chamber. Dead and lots of essence. My question is alternative gas, read a post somewhere and they said straight Nitrogen or carbon monoxide CO was a better gas choice. Anyone have any experience with those?
PS... I wish all cage traps had a 1 1/2 " Hole in front or back .

You can make a hole that size in any cage...

Keep your discussions to private msgs. or the topics will be deleted regarding euthanasia. You folks may face some consequences down the road so I would suggest using better judgment in the future.

the only gas that is legal in NC is co2. have used 22 short and not been sprayed.Use a cover (plastic garbage bag,old shower curtain etc. )to put over cage, peel it back ,dispatch. If it does spray it will be contained. Also carry ingredients for odor removal.Lots of folks use a pole syringe setup ,using acetone as a dispatch product.I do believe that acetone is not labeled to euthanize animals. If using gas,use co2 as it is a recommended method

Every day is good, some are just better!
