I am snaring hogs. I am looking to save a few bucks but not lose any porkers. Extensions made with 1/8 cable are holding just fine. Some neck caught hogs are dead on arrival. I need to figure out where to place deer stops.

I was wondering if #9 wire wrapped around a tree, and tied to the cable snare would hold up?

I'd really like to try a couple of drags, but I'm afraid my hog wouldn't stop till he crossed the international date line.

I've watched videos of snare-making devices but haven't seen one that clearly shows how to make a double swivel.

Any ideas are welcomed please.

I want to die peacefully in my sleep just like my Grandfather did. Not screaming in terror like his passengers did.

You will lose hogs if you try using 9 wire to hold or for a swivel. A deer stop is also going to cost you pigs.

If it makes a track on this earth , I can catch it.

1/8 cable has almost double the breaking strength and doesn't have the fatigue issues of wire. Id rather go overkill, especially with snares.
