I have Tom K on Bobcats trapping has snaring it too. I want to go after cats coons and coyotes. Any newer ones out? Maybe one from the southern on snaring them. I have tracked a copy of eastern wolfer.

Thank ya. I like snaring more and more each season. I thought I was crazy. But one time I hung a snare in open field on cow trail. 2 days later picked up a coyote. That's the reason i am going to disposable anchors. So i dont have to carry rebar anymore .

Here in NJ snaring or using cable restraints For the politicaly correct lol, Is all we've really been allowed to use for canines for the last 32 years. When the trapper get used to using them and understanding how to use them they are very efficient.

I got to talk with Mark Steck . He is one of the best snare men out. I thought Tom K bobcat trapping and snaring is a good book. Getting eastern wolfer to see what it has to on snaring.

While not a book, Mark's coyote snaring DVD is really good.

Newt has a good book, as does Ardell Grawe. You might want to check out Rich Faler's cable restraint book as well.

James Lucero's book "Snarelines Across The West" has a lot of good practical information in it.

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

Dan Dezarn has a good snaring book, as does James Lucero. Best DVD on snaring coyotes I have seen is Mark Steck's. I have not bought many coyote snaring DVDs as we cannot snare. After watching Mark's DVD it was easy to tell he has been there and done it. Newt has two good books. One on canines and one on otter.
If you can find it, Calvin Cobb wrote a very good book on snaring. Grawe has a good one.

I believe it's Rich Faler that makes a great cable restraint book. It might be of value to those using snares too.

Master land snaring
Master otter snaring

and a bunch of DVD's

Never argue with a fool - they will drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

That's the reason i am going to disposable anchors.

If I were trapping in fields I would not leave a disposable anchor with loop sticking up. Cut the loop off or pull the anchor to avoid catching a farmer's plow or other equipment.
