I was using a company in the mid-west to skin, flesh & tan my fur. It was like $30 or $35 each, and I would ship them frozen carcass(s). He is no longer doing it.

Is there anyone that offers this service ?

and please... no comments that I should do it myself. I'm a weekend trapper, that lives in a big city, with no shed, or time to skin. I'm lucky I can trap on weekends.

Not sure if your concept of Midwest is the same as mine but it seems like it would be very expensive to ship carcass goods too far. Just curious.

Hope you are able to find some one more local to your area.

They offer those services according to their price guide. I have had great luck with them.

Have you checked with your state association? I would do that first, as the others have already mentioned. The fact you can ship is irrelevant. Why ship across the country if you can find a local source?

how do y'all feel about moyle mink & tannery? Considering using them for a bear rug/general tanning if I find I don't have time to do catches myself

Moyles wants fur stretched and dried, they upcharge if it isn't.

Moyles also takes hides, bears included, that are salted and dried.

I dropped off two salted bears at Moyles that I fleshed for a friend while picking up some fox, badgers and beaver- which don’t really pay enough to sell - at least for me. I’m always happy with their work. I’ve home tanned for well over ten years and I think my work is pretty good. It still isn’t half as good as Moyles tanning. I’m lucky that I can drop it off. Why don’t you start putting up your own stuff and then whether it’s Moyles or any other respectable tannery, you’ll have far more choices and save yourself a little money too.
