I order the wrong base plates. I order for #2 northwoods . I needed for #3 northwoods. I just have 4 #3 northwoods to do. Would it hurt to use the #2 base plates on #3 traps? There just a hair short on each end. Base plating them just for bobcat trapping. I was thinking to run a bead at the end where it isnt cover. Would that work? I was going to make the bottom of trap level across.

I dont see why they wont work. Even if they were short a 1/2 inch from each end they will still take the flex out of the trap base plate itself.

Yes it will work.that 1/2" or less will never flex, especially from a bobcat.
